BaBs Peer Support Group, Sunshine Coast.

Sunshine Coast BaBs (Birthing and Babies) is a peer support group and a program of the Maternity Coalition. The group provides a space for pregnant women/men and new parents to gain information, create relationships, ask all those questions, and get inspired by all the other members. The group is led and inspired by the women attending, but facilitated and organised by Calmbirth Practitioner, Debbie Peters and Doula and Childbirth Educator, Pernille Powell.

BaBs hopes to provide a forum for women to make informed choices about issues affecting birth and parenting and to increase the empowerment and confidence in women to improve their parenting experience and life skills. Through this process, BaBs also aims to increase a sense of community and build networks. This free community service (gold coin donation) will provide women with a setting to explore, on a continuous basis, the issues, ideas and experiences relevant to them.

During our group we spend time talking about what is happening for us each at the moment. Then we have a topic inspired by the women attending the group. At times we have guest speakers coming in as well. And then there is of course time for some yummy snacks and lots of social chat.

Please help support the group by downloading a brochure for BaBs and putting it up in your area. Click here for A4 size, or here for flyer size (3 to an A4). These files are in pdf format and will open in a new window. Put them up anywhere you might think women will see them. The more that get involved, the better the support group will become.

When
: The group meets every Monday from 9 – 12 noon apart from public Holidays and a break over Christmas.

Where: The Community Permaculture House (the blue/green house next to the park and the skate ramp) on the corner of Farrell street and North Street in Yandina

Entry is by gold coin donation and everyone is welcome regardless of their preferred birthing and parenting choices.
