Birth Debriefing

The feelings we have about the birth experience can affect our parenting of our new babies. It can affect our relationship with our partners and the bonding with our babies.

So how was your birth? How are you feeling right now?

Only you can tell if your birth experience left you hurt, disappointed or traumatised, regardless of what happened. Most women get met with an attitude that they should just be grateful that they have a healthy baby. And of course mothers are always grateful for their babies, but a healthy baby needs a healthy mother. Only you can judge if the feelings you felt after your birth are affecting your life in a negative way.

It is possible though to move on from a difficult birth. It is possible to put all those overwhelming feelings to rest and gain confidence and clarity.

Many women find it very supporting and reassuring to talk to a person who knows the importance of how you feel and respects how you feel about the birth of your child.

It can also be very beneficial to hear other women talk about their difficult experiences and to know that other women also have these kinds of feelings after a challenging birth and that there are reasons for the way they feel.

I am compassionate about supporting women who have had difficult experiences. Please call me on (07) 5448 0141 for a chat and to get information on the support possibilities at the moment.
